Nice work! The branches look pretty good, I guess my suggestion would be to try and use a smaller brush/thinner strokes for the highlights? Also the nodes on the sides maybe shouldn’t be perpendicular. But overall it looks great!

I am no painter so I can’t help. I’m just here to say that that bird is awesome. Super satisfying to look at.

I didn’t notice the branches till I read your description because I was too focused on the bird.

Honestly, having the branches “suck” or be unmemorable a bit seems fine, they aren’t the main subject.
