I caught myself lecturing a young recently hired colleague about about the correct use of boomer, and realized as I was talking that the kids have rewritten the rules when I was busy being old
Young people donât care about generation labels. The only divide is young vs old (with âoldâ being anyone older than them obviously). And âboomerâ is a fun word to use as a pejorative. The fact that it makes people mad when used âincorrectlyâ makes it even better.
The one advantage of being Gen-X. Most of the time, everyone just forgets about us, period. But there are times we get the Boomer label. Itâs painful.I blame those of us who ended up following the Boomersâ footsteps and forgot that we were once against all that.
Iâd be more annoyed about the misuse of âboomerâ than about being called âoldâ.
Ok Boomer.. /s

Yeah Iâm getting grey hair but I CERTAINLY donât deserve getting lumped in with Boomers.
Just get âem back by calling them a millennial.

As my mother would say when the subject came up,
âWhatever.â
Iâm ok to be an Unc. Its means a lot where I live and is a sign of respect. Uncs and Aunties hold the world together.
But it also means getting older đ
Better than getting dead, which is the only alternative. Also, not everyone gets old, we who do are the fortunate.
Press X to doubt
EDIT: Damn, let a millennial yearn for death đ
I have no problem with growing old, quite, slow, and deliberate. Thereâs upsides.
Can I just trade like, 30 years of my life for lifelong youth
Okay.
*shoots you in the head*
A mercy, honestly
Ehh, it depends. Babies can be legit uncles.
Also, Iâve got too many folks younger than myself complaining about chronic aches and pains when I donât have any that arenât self inflicted.
See whoâs laughing when they die fighting their neighbour for the last crumb of lembas bread because we ruined the environment.
I would be honored to make it to boomer age. Many are denied the luxury of old age.
âYou are what I say you are, not what you believe yourself to be.â
