American voters’ feelings on Israel and the Palestinian territories have shifted dramatically in recent years, in a sea change that is transforming the Democratic Party and shaping its primaries.
A new NBC News poll underscores the depths of the shift. More registered voters view Israel negatively than positively, a change from a few years ago. The change has been especially pronounced among independents and Democrats, fueling divided congressional primaries in 2026 and potentially shaping the party’s 2028 presidential contest.
When asked whether their sympathies lie more with Israelis or Palestinians, 40% of registered voters say they side more with the Palestinians, while 39% choose the Israelis. The split stood at 45% for Israelis and 13% for Palestinians when NBC News asked the question more than a decade ago, in November 2013.
But while two-thirds of Republicans side with the Israelis, similar to 2013, two-thirds of Democrats now side with the Palestinians.

The Israeli government has aligned itself with the Republican party since Obama times. Any Democrats trying to ally themselves with Israel are useful idiots being used.
Long before Obama, but yeah. This has been going on for decades. They paid and worked with both sides, but always moving things to the right; towards an authoritarian theocracy. They are part of the fundamentalist Christian growth.
MulligrubsIsrael and the USA and Democrats and Republicans have been moving farther right since at least Bill Clinton (in my opinion, not sure of who is in charge of the left-right scale).
Obama, HRC, Biden all had huge Zionist/AIPAC funding backing, even as GOP was also taken care of. It was Oct 7th, that made all Zionist funding go to GOP because anti-genocide left would pull Harris away from “finishing the job of Genocide” absolutism.

Polls have been useless for a while now. I guarantee that the majority of voters land somewhere between ambivalent and “do not give a single fuck about Israel”. Combine that with the overwhelming majority of democratic politicians getting most of their campaign donations from organizations like AIPAC, and I don’t see things changing any time soon.
A cornered dog is the most dangerous animal and I know the Israelis will use whatever tricks they have at their disposal (up to fully dismantling the US democracy), but this is good news to see

Good. The things they are doing are absolutely horrifying. They need to be ostracized as much as the US does (unfortunately that will mean buddying up, something the world does not need more of).
I am so tired of my tax dollars going to Israel and stupid wars and shitty ass billionaire parasites… I want health care for my neighbors, decent prices at the grocer, and no fucking pedo-protectors running everything.
With November looming, the Democrats refuse to disappoint the right and point their guns inward.
